Specimen Collection Criteria
Collect one gold top SST tube (minimum whole blood: 4 mL). Let specimen clot for 30-60 minutes and then centrifuge to separate serum from cells. Refrigerate after centrifugation.Also acceptable: One plain red top tube (minimum whole blood: 1 mL). Let specimen clot, centrifuge, and transfer the serum to a plastic aliquot tube. Draw specimen at least 6 hours following last dose. Record exact time of specimen collection on the tube.
Rejection Criteria
Grossly hemolyzed specimens, quantity not sufficient, grossly lipemic specimens, improperly labeled
